By default, the list of products in the order in the Prestashop 1.7 shop panel is sorted against the previously uploaded data from the shop cart (standard sorting by the date of adding – the last product added lands at the end of the cart – a free modification, thanks to which the last product added to the cart lands at the top of the list, we described in article on our blog – you will find it here ).
Based on the experience of our clients, we have developed a dedicated modification that allows sorting the list of products in the order by product supplier, product manufacturer, product brand with the possibility of prioritization.
How are the products in the order sorted thanks to this modification?
– first according to the supplier of the product
– then by product manufacturer / brand
If the products do not have an assigned supplier or manufacturer / brand – they end up at the end of the list.
It is possible to adapt the modifications to the client’s needs and establish a different prioritization, e.g. first according to the product brand.
The sorted list of products in the order is saved in the right order to the shop’s database, which means that properly sorted products will be sent, for example, to ERP / accounting program.
Sorting and saving to the database takes place after clicking on Checkout in the order card. On the order confirmation page and in the order confirmation email, the products are already sorted in the new way. The modification is fully compatible and has been tested with one page checkout modules and with all popular payment modules.
ATTENTION! If you want this type of sorting to be also used on the cart page (and also in the dropdown cart) of the shop in the frontend layer, i.e. serve this change in a visible way to the customer so that he can view in the cart already sorted products before placing the order in relation to the new sorting method – here we offer an appropriate, additional modification, which is fully compatible with the presented solution.
